During 2007 the Geelong and Region Branch education program DISCOVERING OUR HERITAGE FOR ALL AGES (DOHAA) has conducted many events with school age to seniors participants, numbering in total nearly four hundred people both local and visitors from across the state.
The Co-ordinator Mrs Jenny Yeats has involved twelve local volunteers to assist in presenting tours and activities to Trust property Barwon Grange and to other heritage places in the region. The program is a marvelous success in bringing the value of heritage to the community and implementing the Trust's mission as well as a sound financial benefit.
Mrs Yeats said " There is always enthusiastic and positive feedback from primary students to seniors that the DOHAA events provide a better understanding of our local heritage. In particular the school program always maintains an interactive approach which allows students to discover for themselves what life and times were like in the 1850s."
