South Gippsland Branch and Parks Victoria recently commemorating the known graves at Walkerville cemetery.

National Trust historian David Weatherill unveiled a plaque commemorating the 17 known graves of Walkerville Cemetery. The cemetery operated in the lime burning days between 1882 and 1926. During this period only a few families could afford headstones. The majority of the unknown graves on the site were marked with woodern crosses which have been destroyed by bushfires. Many in attendance were descendants of those buried.
