Ballarat – History Comes to Life at the 2010 Heritage Weekend
History is alive in Ballarat all year around but will be shining in its golden glory in May 2010 with a weekend-long festival that celebrates the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Grand buildings, enchanting gardens, intriguing memorabilia and collections will be on display – many just for the weekend – allowing visitors to dig and delve into history they’ve never had the chance to explore before.
Lovers of all things vintage are in for a treat with a range of collections to enthuse over, from walking sticks that remind us of a time when life moved a little slower and people generally cared about quality, to Louis Vuitton luggage, swimsuits, working steam engines, vintage and classic cars, and bicycles.
Nearly 100 activities and events are planned, most free of charge, others with a gold coin donation or cover charge.
