Koendidda is a Georgian estate built in the 1850's with a goldrush fortune. The manor is constructed of hand-made, wire-cut bricks produced from two small quarries on the property. This grand home sits on 4 hectares amongst majestic old trees and manicured grounds and each season brings a change in the splendour. Koendidda (which means 'parting of the clouds') has been tenderly restored and operates as one of Victoria's most evocative country houses for guests. Warm and inviting Koendidda is generous in every sense with it's wide hallways, high ceilings and vast verandahs. Comfort of guests is a priority with five beautifully furnished rooms, all with their own ensuite bathroom, sitting rooms with many fine pieces of period furniture along with memorybillia and an extensive selection of books which to browse through. Open fires along with reverse cycle air-conditioning ensure complete comfort. Guests are treated to a gourmet breakfast which can be served on the verandah over looking the majestic grounds and then of an evening experience fine dining at its best in the formal dining room. Produce, if not home-grown, is source locally and along with the region's fine selection of wines, a gourmet delight is assured. Take a picnic hamper down by the lake, read a book under an ancient gum or laze the day away in a hammock. Koendidda is simply a beautiful place to stay. Tariffs start at $235 per room, per night which includes a fully cooked breakfast. Dinner is also available.
