2011 Heritage Award Winners
The Heritage Festival 2011 “Steam to Surf” was a vibrant and diverse celebration of Victoria’s rich natural, cultural and indigenous heritage. As part of the Festival the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) celebrated community participation in the conservation of heritage properties around the State.
The National Trust Heritage Awards recognise those in our community who have demonstrated excellence in retention, restoration and reuse of our heritage places. The Awards effectively engage the community, reward outstanding contribution to heritage conservation and encourage the development of partnership programs with local municipalities.
Our heritage includes buildings, gardens and objects, public and private places. Heritage places are an integral part of our communities and the Heritage Awards are part of the National Trust and local Council's commitment to celebrate and promote our heritage.
The aim of the awards is to recognise and promote excellence in heritage conservation and works and to promote community awareness of our heritage.
The awards are open to domestic and commercial projects, from both the government and non-government sectors.
