History:In 1925 Joan and Daryl Lindsay purchased a 29 acre property in a rural setting with charming views of the surrounding country-side and Western Port.
They added a delightful American colonial style Desbrowe Annear designed house to an existing four-room 1880s cottage. |

Artworks:
Margaret Preston, Constance Stokes, Rick Amor, Margaret Stone, John Perceval, Rupert Bunny are among the artists represented at Mulberry Hill. There are also some of Daryl Lindsay’s flower and equestrian studies, and works by Joan Lindsay. Joan Lindsay trained as an artist, but set aside her brushes in the 1930s to concentrate on writing. Her novels include the autobiographical Time Without Clocks and the well-known 1967 Picnic at Hanging Rock, later a popular Peter Weir film. |
