This house of prayer is significant as the only surviving building of its kind in regional Victoria, it continues to be used as a place of worship. One of Bendigo's original buildings, it provides a glimpse into the Chinese culture and tradition.
The management of the Joss House is now under the control of the City of Greater Bendigo and is a property associated with the National Trust.
