There is no fee to search the online Register, but this only includes the basic information and the Statement of Significance for Classified sites. There may be more information in the file kept at the Trust's offices at 4 Parliament Place, East Melbourne 3004, which can be searched for a fee.
An appointment must be made with the Information Services Officer on (03) 9656 9818 and 24 hours notice is required. (Same day access may be granted in some circumstances and the access fee may be doubled.)

Owner, student, family/local history - $20
Commercial
Commissioned history, study etc - $50

Nomination Checklist

Please check whether the place is already protected by other organisations. It may be listed by Heritage Victoria, the State Government body - its listings are available at www.heritage.vic.gov.au. It may be protected by a Heritage Overlay control, imposed by the local Council. Call the planning department of the local council to make inquiries.
Remember that classification by the Trust does not guarantee its survival, as we are community based lobby group, not part of government. You should also lobby the local Council to ensure further action. If you believe the place to be of State level significance, you should consider nominating to Heritage Victoria.
- The Nomination Form is accessible via the link below. It is available in .pdf or .word format.
- A separate form is required when nominating trees.
- You should copy and complete the form electronically. You can then email it back, or provide on disk, mailed to 4 Parliament Place, East Melbourne VIC 3002
- Please complete the nomination to the best of your ability, and try to be succinct.
- Photographs are essential. Prints are preferred, but emailed jpgs are acceptable.
