Volunteers

ABOVE: Event volunteers set off for a great day’s activities at our 2010 Rippon Lea Estate Teddy Bears Picnic.
Event volunteers are essential to the success of activities that promote Trust goals whilst fundraising to support the upkeep of Trust buildings, gardens and landscapes.
On Sunday 28th February 2010, 23 volunteers, contributed 150 hours supporting Trust staff in ensuring a wonderful experience for more than 3000 visitors at Rippon Lea’s 20th annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Our Event Volunteers welcomed visitors, provided them with information and directions, helped run children’s games and activities, conducted guided tours of the mansion, and at the end of the day joined in the property clean-up. Our energetic and enthusiastic volunteers made running this large scale event possible.
If you are interested in assisting at a Trust event, check our website www.nattrust.com.au for upcoming events at our properties, in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Opportunities for Event Volunteers are also posted on this page and via Seek / GoVolunteer.
Want to know more about volunteering with the Trust?
The National Trust is in regular need of committed volunteers to assist with maintaining its activities throughout the state. Volunteers support a small paid staff at Head Office and at our historic properties by generously giving their time, skills and experience.
Have you considered extending your experience, learning new skills and enriching your life by becoming involved as a volunteer with the National Trust? Orientation and training is provided. A regular commitment of at least one day a fortnight, over a 12-month period, is generally required.
Help us to protect Victoria's heritage by undertaking a regular volunteer commitment!
