Would you like to know the stories, people and places that helped shape Melbourne? Join us on the National Trust Heritage Walking Tour where we show you some of Melbourne's majestic buildings.
Our tour will take you to Melbourne's most prominent and magnificent buildings as well as some hidden gems. Buildings may include the regal Princess Theatre, Parliament House and St Patrick's Cathedral, one of the major Gothic Revival structures in the world. Also visiting a former family lodging from the 1880's and a charming workman's cottage. Walk and learn about the popular communities of the 19th century and the quirky stories of the area.
Walking at a pace that allows you to take in Melbourne's atmosphere, this is a great tour for all; from visitors to locals, private groups or new found socialites.
With a qualified tour guide and small groups, the best way to see Heritage Melbourne is up close and on foot.
The National Trust Heritage Walks run every Tuesday and Saturday at 10am and Thursdays at 2pm.
The 1.5 hour walks conclude with light refreshments.
Bookings essential, with 48 hours notice required - Bookings are available online here!
Cost: $35 per person. $30 for National Trust Members.
Please note: tours may not run if minimum numbers are not reached.

National Trust River Cruise Package

Self Guided Melbourne Walk / iPod Tour
Take a fascinating tour of Melbourne's social history on this self guided walk.
This is an iPod Walking Tour of Melbourne to celebrate the centenary of women’s suffrage in 2008 written and developed by Dr. Celestina Sagazio.
Preview the Women's walk online and see images of the buildings and read about their story or use your iPod and download the complete walk. You can also use any 3G phone with GPS that has an internet connection to navigate the Google map.
Historic Guided Walks of Emerald Hill
The volunteers of the Portable Iron Houses conduct a series of walks around Emerald Hill - the original name for South Melbourne, which offer a glimpse into the way of life in the second half of the 19th Century.
The walks start at the Portable Iron Houses and take approximately 1.5 hours.
