For 95 years the Armytage family lived on the estate and continued the tradition of romance with the 1906 marriage of Constance Armytage to the Aide-de-camp of the Governor of Victoria, Captain Arthur Fitzpatrick. The wedding reception was held in the elaborate gardens and Table Talk magazine described it as the “social event of the year.” Today, as a treasured National Trust property, Como continues the romantic tradition and assist in making your wedding day a memorable event.

From the inspiration of renowned gardener William Sangster, explore the oasis of gentle sloping lawns, fragrant flower walks and pine cypress glades within the two hectares of landscaped gardens. From the majestic peppercorn tree shading the Ellis Stones water garden to the fabulous fountain terrace resonating the grace and charm of the Italianate style home, the backdrop is as breathtaking as it is unique. For a touch of elegance and nostalgia, the magnificent Como Ballroom is available for small dinner or cocktail receptions all year round. Included in its features is the antique Lipp & Sohn piano that can be played by arrangement to accompany your wedding. Alternatively, the Pavilion overlooking the charming Western Lawn offers modern style and is a contemporary alternative for receptions and functions at Como.
